Emily was a duck for the third year in a row! This was Ben's first
Halloween because he was too little last year. We were surprised that
he stayed in the costume the whole night. Emily wanted mom and dad
dressed up as chickens to go with the ducks but chicken costumes aren't
cheep! Emily did her routine at every house - "Trick or Treat", "quack
quack", "thank you" - and if we asked her to quack again she said
defiantly "I already did that!".

Ben has started walking with only one hand to hold on to instead of two,
and he can throw a ball about as well as his sister now. He's
definitely not the chatty one of the family, but he does like to yell a
lot when he gets excited or bored. He is a boy of few words - still
pretty much dog, mama, dada, sometimes we'll get something that sounds
like "more", and he'll occasionally say up or down. Emily, on the other
hand is saying words like "Philadelphia" and "Minnetonka" with ease, and
now has a "ghost friend" named... Ghost Friend who is a boy and pretty
much goes to all of the same places she does except at different times,
and occasionally won't let her do things like go to the bathroom unless
mom or dad is there.
